School Author Visits

Getting children excited about reading

Wilf Morgan regularly carries out author visits to pupils in years 4 - 7. The aim is to encourage young people to be enthusiastic about books and reading through various activities including;

"Heroes and Villains" - the students create a story by concentrating on creating a Protagonist and Antagonist.

"Idea to Shelf" - following how a book is created from the idea stage all the way through to the book being on the shelf.

The Bookcase

More than just a bookshop

The Bookcase in Lowdham, Nottinghamshire has been a welcoming and successful book shop for over twenty years, scooping up awards, right from the year it opened in 1996.

It helped launch the widely influential Lowdham Book Festival and counts many authors and booksellers as friends. For 88Tales this is especially meaningful as it was the first place to stock Wilf Morgan's books.

All this wouldn't mean anything if the shop wasn't also an extremely friendly and warm place to visit with welcoming and knowledgeable staff always on hand.

Its aim of being more than just a bookshop is certainly well fulfilled!
