FIRST APPEARANCE
Arthur Ness and the Secret of Waterwhistle, Pt 1
Summary
Teresa Smith is an inhabitant of Waterwhistle, a small village in Nottinghamshire.
When Lady Eris came into the village and began to cast her spell of fear over the inhabitants, Teresa (then, ten years old) was one of only two people unaffected by the magic. The other was her younger brother, Sam.
She eventually met and befriended Arthur Ness and the pair joined to become powerful allies of the Cat in his constant fight against The Queen.

Background

Lady Eris' spell caused the inhabitants of Waterwhistle to be afraid of everything. For some reason, the spell didn't affect Teresa and that may have been down to her personality and background.

Teresa's family had always been a happy one. She was one of three children - she was close to her elder brother, Albert and young brother Sam. Her father Hector ran the local farm shop and her mother Elsie was the rock that held the family together.

Unfortunately, Elsie died when Sam was still a baby. Elsie had always been a protector, looking after the family. Teresa saw it as her responsibility to inherit this role. Since then, she has always been on the lookout for anything that might harm her family. When Albert enlisted in the army and was sent abroad to fight upon the outbreak of World War 2, Teresa tried doubly hard to look after Sam and her father.

Perhaps this was why she was able to see through Lady Eris' spell when nobody else in the village could.

Warnings

Unfortuantely, Teresa's ability to see that Lady Eris was up to no good put her in direct danger. She tried to warn the people of Waterwhistle that something was up. The young resident literally got up on a bench in the middle of the village and shouted warnings to her fellow villagers.

Lady Eris, however, was not going to allow anything to get in her way. She swiftly dealt with the situation - very soon, not only did Teresa disappear but the residents of Waterwhistle forgot she even existed.

Arrival in Arilon

However, this was not the end of Teresa's story - in fact, it was only just beginning. Her adventures soon took her to teh world of Arilon where she quickly met a grumpy, old pirate named Captain Thrace - and she took over flying his trusty ship, The Galloping Snake.

Arthur

Eventually, Teresa ran into Arthur and the pair hit it off right away. Teresa wasn't sure why the two of them instantly got along so well. They both shared the experience of having been chased by Lady Eris and her Yarnbulls, so Teresa assumed they had simply bonded over that.

Whatever the case, Lady Eris and her boss, the Queen were fast spreading their fear and control across Arilon and Waterwhistle. It was down to Teresa and Arthur to uncover Lady Eris' plans and figure out a way to stop them, before it was too late.

Everything that happened to Teresa is recorded in the books of The Arilon Chronicles.
